Beginning October 2015, 18 highways nationwide will impose new toll rates, with increases of between 10 sen and RM3.The new rates will involve the Kajang Ring Road (SILK), SMART Highway, Highway Maju Expressway (MEX), Duta-Ulu Kelang Expressway (DUKE), KL-Kuala Selangor Expressway (LATAR), New Pantai Expressway (NPE), Sungai Besi Expressway (BESRAYA), Ampang Kuala Lumpur Elevated Highway (AKLEH), Guthrie Corridor Expressway (GCE), Kemuning-Shah Alam Expressway (LKSA) and Kuala Lumpur-Karak Highway (KLK), Damansara-Puchong Highway (LDP), Kajang–Seremban Highway (LEKAS), Senai–Desaru Expressway, SPRINT Highway, the Cheras-Kajang Highway (Grand Saga) and the South Klang Valley Expressway (SKVE).
ANIH Berhad spokesman said the new toll rates KLK Gombak toll plaza is RM6 (class one), RM12 (class two), RM18 (class three), RM3 (class four), while class five remains at RM5.Class one is for cars, class two for trucks weighing less than a tonne, class three for large trucks and trailers, class four for taxis and class five for buses.The last toll hike was on March 1, 2009, involving the North-South Highway (PLUS), SPRINT Highway, AKLEH, BESRAYA and NPE. while no increase involving other toll concession companies since 2008.
What will effect to us as consumer ? It is good for us? With this increasing of toll can gain more profit for our government and give will give us benefit?
